Who we are
01Coal is the most geographically distributed fossil fuel on Earth — 1.07 trillion tonnes of proven reserves across more than seventy nations. For most of them, it is the one energy asset that is local, abundant, and beyond the reach of global supply disruptions.
The problem has never been the resource. It has been what we do with it. Latitude exists to change the answer — from burning coal to building with it.
Our platform is TRIG™ — Transport Integrated Gasification — developed in partnership with the U.S. Department of Energy and validated at a 582 MW commercial facility anchored by the two largest gasifiers ever built in IGCC service.
Latitude licenses the technology and develops the projects: converting low-rank domestic coal into syngas, and syngas into products with global markets.

Develop
We originate coal-to-products projects worldwide — characterizing the reserve against TRIG™’s demonstrated operating envelope, matching it to offtake markets, and structuring projects that finance on an engineering basis drawn from as-operated data, not vendor promises.
Design
We carry the engineering basis from concept through FEED and detailed design — flowsheets, equipment specification, and integration drawn from the as-built, as-operated record rather than a clean sheet.
Manage construction
First-of-a-kind plants fail in known ways — and the largest gasification build in IGCC history documented them all. We manage against that record: vendor and fabrication QA before steel ships, schedule realism, staged commissioning. A lessons ledger applied as a checklist, not a memory.
Manage the asset
TRIG™’s economics rest on reliability that is engineered, not bought. We run the asset for its life — availability targets built from demonstrated benchmarks, 200+ day campaign operations, and every lesson fed back into the fleet and every licensee’s procedures.
Latitude Energy did not own the referenced facility and had no role in any phase of its engineering, procurement, or construction. Latitude’s practice draws on the program’s publicly available engineering and project reporting.
